Suggest a DD stamp by Thiefoworld

What is a Daily Deviation?

The Daily Deviation is a daily feature chosen from the galleries here on deviantART.

A small assortment of submissions are chosen each day by a select group of staff/volunteer members who wish to showcase an image which they found impressive or otherwise interesting enough to deserve being brought to the attention of the community-at-large.

The staff/volunteer members responsible for selecting submissions for the daily feature often are open to suggestions and individual community members may direct their attention by noting the appropriate Community Volunteer or staff member with a direct link to the deviation which you are suggesting and a brief description about why you think the work in question should be featured.

FAQ #61: What is a Daily Deviation?
FAQ #18: Who selects Daily Deviations and how are they chosen?
FAQ #313: How can I find out if someone already has a Daily Deviation?
FAQ #873: What do I do when I disapprove of a Daily Deviation feature?

How To Suggest a Daily Deviation:

:pointr:-Find a deviation on deviantART that you would like to see featured.

:pointr:-Take notice of the deviations category. Example: Traditional, Digital etc

:pointr:-Find the appropriate deviantART Gallery Moderator that Moderates the category that the deviation is in.
Links are provided in this Blog that show every Moderator and their Respective Sections.

:pointr:-Send a note to the Gallery Moderator. Title: "Daily Deviation Suggestion" or something to that effect

:pointr:-Make sure you paste the link and/or thumbnail of the deviation you are suggesting in the note (preferably a thumbnail)
The "thumb" code is on the right side of each image description. Copy the thumb code, it will show a thumbnail of the image when pasted in the note.

:pointr:-Leave a short description of why you think the piece should become a DD if you wish.

:pointr:-Send note

Some things you should know

Anyone can suggest a daily deviation. Suggesting someones work for a DD could give that artist the opportunity to reach a much larger audience and gain more exposure. It only takes a few minutes, and it will really make someones day. Try to suggest one as often as possible!

Remember that as a general rule recipients must wait at least 6 months from receiving their last DD before they are eligible for a new one. So if a person has received a DD in the last 6 months, wait a while before suggesting another of their works.

Certain Gallery Moderators and Staff may have specific details on how to suggest Daily Deviations to them. I suggest that you scan their front page for any specific information before suggesting one.

Moderators do receive a lot of suggestions, so not every piece that you suggest may become a DD.
Also keep in mind that due to the sheer volume of notes that Gallery Moderators receive, you may or may not receive a reply.
So be remain both persistent and patient, and your diligence will pay off!
Remember that you are doing this as an act of kindness.

this is my friends work but do you believe it is good enough to be accepted as a daily deviation?

I never got a DD, but I'm not complaining. I just try to improve myself as much as I can.
I know a lot of great artists here on DA who never got any DD and I even once suggested someone's deviation, but it didn't take.
Sometimes I feel like these DD's are more like a popularity contest :(

You can maybe submit your art in groups that suggest DDs, like #GetDailyDeviations, so that more people see it and suggest it. :)

DDs not always go to popular artists. On the opposite, most CVs don't accept suggestions with too many faves and comments. They prefer to give the spotlight to less known, talented artists.

So, you never know if your lucky day is close! :giggle: Keep up your talented job and your talent will be noticed soon!

Please don't give up! Continue suggesting and you never know if your suggestion will be accepted! It's so great the feeling to make another person happy that it deserves the declining of some of our suggestions!

Go to the galleries of nice groups, to other people's favourites, to the Front Page, to the group #GetDailyDeviations etc. You will find countless pieces that deserve this honor and deserve a bit of your time! <3

Keep up and you will soon be rewarded for your effort and Community spirit!

I don't have trouble finding deviations that are worth of a DD. I just don't want to pester the mods (and never get an acknowledgement which is understandable considering the amount of messages they probably get daily).

And please don't tell the artist that you have suggested them... nothing more frustrating than knowing you have been suggested at least twice, but nothing ever comes of it :sighs:

Although I sadly know I will never receive any daily deviations, I still find the concept fascinating. I've always wondered how artists got them, and whether there were any limits to how many that they can have.

I know I have plenty of stuff worthy of a DD but it seems DA is more into anime, macro photos of flowers and terribly written short stories about long lost love and relationships. It's a shame really. I have plenty of friends on my list that deserve a DD as well but wont get it since it's not "safe."

In case you didn't know, the #communityrelations team, who often look after and feature DD's in the first place, are a group of volunteers that look after almost every gallery on deviantART. Depending on the capacity of the gallery, you'll probably see more artwork of that criteria featured than any other.

For example: The Literature team has currently 3 volunteers, while the deviantART-related team has 1 volunteer..you'll likely see more DDs from Literature than deviantART-related every 24 hours.

Also, it's very important that you know the Guidelines of the volunteer you're trying to suggest to..they don't make them just to have an appearance of professionalism or a rulebook. Each volunteer is different, but we all try to do our best to give everyone great work, tips on improvement, and overall a safe/exciting experience to being a deviantART member.

Sorry if I gave you a letter, haha..but I hope you understand even a cent of what I'm trying to make clear.

Yeah I get it. It's all based on personal taste basically.

:aww: Pretty much. Our personal taste differs every year though, because volunteers are given a 1-year contract with deviantART before someone new takes our place in the gallery.

But if you're what they call a "Mentor", you stay an extra year, but that's a rare opportunity.

I find it strange I've been here for 7-8 years and never got a DD. I even had a premium membership but I got nothing out of it. I'm not sure why I still stick around. There are a lot of great artists but the community has seriously degenerated into report hungry complainers and cell phone photographers taking bad grainy nude pics of themselves. And the DD's well, the last time I faved one was 2 years ago. They've all been subpar at best. For something called a "daily deviation" they seem pretty tame and safe. Still, I have friends here and this site has made me some money.

Just to point out, the new guidelines now say 6 months before an artist is featured again, instead of 3 months. As others are pointing out. :P
