Art Galleries will be temporarily closed for an indefinite period of time as yet to be determined.
This downtime is to process Members Submissions as well as to perform some routine group maintenance.
We will also be restructuring our group from the ground up, re-establishing criteria and guidelines as well as some major changes to the submission process..
During this present time we are reorganizing our galleries, reworking submission criteria and guidelines, redesigning our front page and restaffing our group of moderators.
We apologize for any inconvenience, and will notify you as soon as possible upon it's galleries reopening. Thank you for your continued patience, and for your time.Addressing Feedback and Changes...
In the meantime I would like to propose some possible changes.
We will have a public vote via poll, and you the Member will make the final decision.
There has been a lot of talk about Criteria.
Some people respect it, to some people it helps them grow, while others may despise it.
Also the name of the group can add to the confusion to some.digital-artists
seems a welcoming name to some, and the fact that anyone may join seems promising.
Only to get that fateful decline message upon submitting ones artwork.
We like that we have set the bar high, that we challenge our fellow artists, and that we have quality control.
But we also understand that this may seem to border on elitism, and that many artists can not participate in the group with this high standard. We have had multiple public polls that have all been voted in favor of keeping the criteria standards.
We have an alternative, but since this is your group you get to decide...So we are going to offer a solution:
We propose the idea that we close submissions to the public, and that submissions be by invitational only as decided be our Group Staff. We will still be providing you with the very best of both Professional and new up and coming Digital Artists.
We have an large gallery in which to draw resources from, and if you have had a submission make it into the group gallery, chances are you will have your artwork suggested in the future.
We may also take suggestions from the public of artwork you feel should be in the group.
This will free the Group Moderators and Administrators from the extensive submission processing which we are currently undertaking to providing you with an extensive variety of interactive group Activities.
We would also be able to now completely focus on public events, Features, contests, and projects in which all Members will be able to participate in.
Money, points, and exposure are just some of the prizes awarded from these contests. And they will be general entry, all can enter, completely open to the public.
We will also be able to focus on educational tutorials, developing skill sets, resources, and much more.
We will become an interactive informative group focused solely on Digital Artists, rather than simply continuing as a submission processing system like we are at present. We want to focus on you, the Digital Artist, and help provide a place that can provide exposure as well as information relevant to the digital medium.Tell us what you think
Please share your thoughts below what you think and why.
Your feedback is very important to us, this is your group after all.
And take a moment to vote on this related poll so that we can get a general public consensus: digital-artists.deviantart.com…
